Legal icon and Life Bencher, Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, following the historic emergence of Mrs. Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade as the first female Chairman of the Premier Bar.
Describing the moment as a powerful symbol of progress, inclusion, and diversity, Aare Akinboro praised the milestone not merely as a personal triumph, but as a broader institutional victory for the legal profession.

“This is more than a win for one individual; it is a statement of what is possible when courage, competence, and a clear vision meet opportunity. I salute the leadership that brought this team together and the promise it holds for the Bar and the broader legal community,” he remarked.

In his message, Aare Akinboro emphasized that leadership at the Bar must be defined by service, collaboration, empathy, and the ability to unify diverse voices. He expressed confidence that the new leadership will embody those values while setting a benchmark for innovation, mentorship, and fairness.
He urged the new Chairman and her team to draw from the strengths of all members—young and senior lawyers, men and women, the vibrant and the introspective—to build a more formidable and future-ready Bar.
“Your emergence offers a rare opportunity to reimagine leadership—one that is anchored in inclusiveness and anchored in justice, development, and professional excellence,” he added.
As the Lagos Branch embarks on this new chapter, Aare Akinboro expressed optimism that it will not only sustain its legacy of excellence but also inspire other branches across the country.
“May your leadership journey be marked by courage in action, unity in purpose, and legacy in service. I look forward to witnessing the strides you will make in advancing justice and institutional impact.”
Congratulations once again to Mrs. Uchenna Ogunedo Akingbade and the entire executive committee.
