I received with deep sorrow the sad news of the passing of our esteemed colleague and brother, S. I. Abaya, Esq., a former Secretary of the NBA Ilorin Branch.
His demise is not only a painful loss to his immediate family but also to the legal community in Ilorin and beyond. S. I. Abaya was a committed Bar man, whose contributions to the growth of the NBA Ilorin Branch during his tenure as Secretary (2011–2013) remain commendable and worthy of remembrance.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Chairman, Mr. SMH Kosemani, the entire Executive Committee, and members of the NBA Ilorin Branch. I also commiserate with the Abaya family and pray that the Almighty grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and gives his loved ones the strength to bear this great loss.
May his legacy of service to the Bar endure, and may God console all who mourn him.
